Playtime Paris: Atlanta Mocassin

DSC_0020DSC_0035 DSC_0037 DSC_0032 DSC_0026 DSC_0024 DSC_0022I was very happy to discover Atlanta Mocassin at Playtime Paris, as not only do I love the shoes, but they are handmade in Portugal! Portugal is very dear to my heart (hence the name Queridos), as it is my heritage. So when I see wonderful brands like Atlanta it makes me proud.

The ballerina shoes for girls are really fun and colourful and available in leather and suede. I like that they have thicker soles than other ballerinas as this is more comfortable for children’s feet. The boys’ mocassins are very stylish too and vary from the more classic style (I really like the grey mocassin) to unexpected  colour combinations for boys.

You can find Atlanta online.

Playtime Paris: Chandamama kids

I met Chantal from Chandamama at Playtime Paris a few weeks ago and really enjoyed hearing her story of how her clothing line for kids came about. Actually, we share a lot in common as we both have backgrounds in working for the United Nations, but share a passion for design.

Chantal is currently based in India and her children’s clothing line takes a lot of influence from her environment. The designs are beautifully made with gorgeous embroidery. I particularly love the kaftans in bright colours.

One of the advantages of going to trade fairs is meeting all different people and the story behind how they started their brands.

Playtime Paris SS 2014: Bleu comme gris

DSC_1112DSC_1118 DSC_1114 DSC_1113 DSC_1111 DSC_1107 DSC_1105 DSC_1104 DSC_1121Bleu comme gris is not a new brand but it is new to me. I really enjoyed this brand because of the attention to detail and their large boys collection. Many designers agree that designing for girls is so much easier than for boys, but this brand really had a lovely selection for little men. I fell in love with the beautiful leather jackets (above), the hats (I’m a huge fan of boys in hats) and the colours for boys. For girls, everything was delicious! I really liked the tulle skirt that was so soft to touch, I know a little girl who would love to wear this!

Check out BCG on their website to see where they are available and a full range of school uniforms for children.

I will be on holiday for the next two weeks, but back the week of the 29th July to share some more brands from Playtime Paris!

Playtime Paris: Anais & I, New York

DSC_1065DSC_1078 DSC_1076 DSC_1075 DSC_1074 DSC_1073 DSC_1071 DSC_1067 DSC_1066How can I not love a brand that carries my daughter’s middle name? Apart from the personal note, and being designed in New York, Anaïs & I, is a wonderful, colourful children’s brand that is stylish and playful at the same time. We see that for SS 2014, prints, colours and stripes are in full bloom and yellow is featured in many of the pieces. I particularly like the raincoat above.

Thank you to Aida from Anaïs & I for taking the time to present the line to me and letting me take some pics to show you.

Hopefully some of the buyers from Switzerland picked this brand up so that I can get it here soon!
